Here’s what you need to do…
How do Landlords start using Kavaho?
How do Tenants start using Kavaho?
- Sign up: Click on ‘Sign Up’ and create your secure online account
- Add Property Details: Enter the address, a description, some basic details and a few photos
- Create Tenancy: Create the Lease Agreement, and here you have two options:
- New Lease Agreement with digital signatures for a new tenancy, or
- Digitised Lease Agreement for you to transfer details of your existing tenancy agreement into Kavaho, no signing required.
Tenants can sign up only by invitation from their landlord. The email invitation is sent to tenants automatically when the landlord creates or digitises the lease agreement in Kavaho. It contains a unique link for tenants to sign up, during which they verify their details entered by their landlord in the lease agreement. Once in, they are prompted to view the tenancy agreement in Kavaho, in which they will see new rent payment information and the list of key tradies to contact in the event of an emergency.
For new tenancies, the tenants will be directed to read the lease agreement, to click on links to view important information including the Tenant Information Statement, and then to sign it electronically.
For existing tenancies, for which the exiting lease is digitised within Kavaho, new rent payment information will be sent automatically together with direction to tenants to start paying their rent into Kavaho. This is an important step and one which we encourage landlords to monitor closely. If rent is not paid through Kavaho, then Kavaho cannot monitor payments, send alerts for missed payments, or complete the end of lease ‘amounts-owed’ calculations.
